Safety first

These signs have a safety function, they are there to warn and inform you. These may well be standard signs but they contribute a great deal to the reduction of accidents and therefore help to save lives. e.g. Signs that direct you to emergency exits.

It is also possible to embed temperature sensitive crystals into the signs to either point out, or warn of very high or low temperatures.

The colours for the signs are defined in the German Industry Norm: DIN 5381.

Warning signs
Background: RAL 1003 signal yellow, contrast colour: RAL 9004 signal black
Fire prevention signs
Background: RAL 3001 signal red, contrast colour: RAL 9003 signal white
Prohibitory signs
Background: RAL 3001 signal red, contrast colour: RAL 9003 signal white
Emergency signs
Background: RAL 6032 signal green, contrast colour: RAL 9003 signal white
Mandatory signs
Background: RAL 5005 signal blue contrast colour: RAL 9003 signal white

The most important thing about warning signs is that you understand what is meant at first glance, regardless of which language you speak.
